All Mapped Out: Nightclub Map

As a lover of maps of all kinds, I find this one particularly beautiful and fascinating (click on image to zoom in). "A Night Club Map of Harlem," originally published in an issue of Manhattan Magazine in 1932, identifies the places to be during the NYC neighborhood's heyday. The illustration was created by Elmer Simms Campbell, the first African-American cartoonist to be published in national publications like The New Yorker, Esquire, and Cosmopolitan. Isn't it gorgeous?
