Last night we decided to get out of the house and have a cocktail before dinner. The heat has been intense and it was too hot to think about doing anything in the kitchen yet. We decided to head to The Cove, a local watering hole with the old "ship" bar from the now-defunct Anderton's seafood restaurant that was a staple in midtown. I love this place. Everything old (and charming) is new again. Fancy, delicious cocktails, a decent beer selection, surprisingly good food (the menu includes a scrumptious iceberg wedge salad called "The Mermaid Salad" - bonus points!) and old movies on the widescreen behind the bar (they were screening a Sean Connery 007 movie last night) - L-O-V-E!
