I'm ready to party, so here are some awesome, full on Glam Rock jams! Both of these songs were later covered by Ace Frehley of KISS fame, but I adore the originals. "Do Ya" was also popularized by ELO. I remember hearing these tunes on the radio in my mom's mid-70s Ford Maverick when I was a kid.

I love the list of five "2010 Design Trends We've Tired Of" at HomeDesignFind this week. Namely:
1) Taxidermy.
2) Chinese Garden Stools.
3) Typography as art.
4) The Eames Lounge Chair.
5) Chalkboard Paint.But they also list five things they'd like to see more of in 2011. More of what? Well, more personal, mixed-up organic and handmade style. Nice!

Crush: Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans
Six Flags New Orleans was closed in preparation for the force of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and has been abandoned ever since. Check out this film by Teddy Smith, filmed in October 2010. The images are haunting and beautiful. The park is scheduled to be demolished next month. via timothybuckwalter

PBF: Jarvis Cocker
Watching Live Forever: The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop back in 2003, my love for Jarvis Cocker, singer for the band Pulp, was cemented. Not that I'm particularly a Brit Pop fan, but his interviews were by far the most interesting and entertaining therein. Since then, of course, he and his music have made cameo appearances in popular films such as Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. That's cool enough. But when this Apartment Therapy article was published in August 2010 and I subsequently read this article, my head nearly exploded with joy to learn he’s also an ardent historic preservationist. *sigh*

Tuesday Tunes: Bad Sports
I've been thinking about the LPs and 45s I bought, borrowed or otherwise acquired and listened to the most this year. The list is kind of all over the place - weird punk, rock 'n' roll, soul - it's a great big mish-mash for 2010. I plan to put a list together. Eventually.

Crush: Henry & Glenn Forever
Henry & Glenn Forever, the zine, is available in stores now! Starring cartoon versions of Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig as very friendly "roommates" (with Hall and Oates as their next door neighbors), it promises to be a hoot. I've been waiting to pick up a copy for several months now, but here's an animated Christmas teaser! Yay!
